Confidentiality Policy
HertsISS understands that information that service users’ give to staff in private is confidential. All information and records held by the HertsISS are kept securely so that unauthorised persons cannot access them.
HertsISS will ask for a service user’s permission before disclosing information to another person or organisation. This usually happens only when the other person or organisation needs the information in order to provide the care or support required. Information given us in confidence will not be shared with family or friends against the wishes of the service user.
Keeping records is an essential part of running a safe and efficient service. HertsISS workers understand that it is a service user’s right to know what information is being kept about them, and that the workers have a responsibility to make sure that it is handled properly, in ways that comply with the Data Protection Act.
