Environmental Policy

 

HertsISS are committed to managing environmental issues properly and to minimising our impact on the environment without compromising the quality of the service we provide.  We will concentrate particularly on the use of energy, water and transport and on waste disposal.

 

We will take steps to help everyone using or working in the service to have a better understanding of environmental issues. Awareness of this policy will form part of our induction for all new workers. We will regularly review the way the service works to make sure that we are doing all we can to reduce waste and make best use of resources.

 

We will do as much as we can to reduce the amount of energy that we use including turning off unnecessary lighting, heating and equipment and using energy saving light bulbs. We will do as much as we can to reduce the amount of water that we use including fitting water conservation devices and dealing immediately with dripping taps, leaking pipes and toilet overflows in need of repair.
